The S.A.S.
Post-Seconday Award

The Award is in memory of the founder of Mount Moriah Homes, Sharon Ann Shirt (S.A.S.). It was Sharon's vision to offer an award, specifically to children or youth in care, that over came obstacles, struggles and burdens to further their education. This award is open to post secondary students who were or are currently in group care, foster care, kinship care, etc.
Sharon was a survivor of the 60's scoop and through her perseverance and faith she was able to finish high school at 16 years old and further her education by enrolling at Lakeland College and Grant MacEwan. Sharon truly believed that education was a key component to be successful in life and show others that no matter what you been through (good or bad) that you could achieve your educational goals.
