Our Covid-19 Protocols
Mount Moriah Homes follows the Covid-19 protocols as laid out by Alberta Health Services. Our company also has internal procedures detailing how we handle infectious diseases.
Staff Vaccinations
As of September 16, 2021, 75% of our staff are double vaccinated. However, with regard to the new AHS regulations of September 16, our company will be addressing the need for full staff vaccination.
Covid 19 Disease Control
The staff will ensure the following procedures are in place:
They must take their temperature before starting their shift.
Staff must wear masks whenever they interact with the residents.
They must sanitize their hands according to AHS protocols - handwashing and sanitizer.
They disinfect all high-touch surfaces.
They do not come to work if they are feeling unwell.
If necessary, management will request staff get a Covid-19 test.
If staff test positive for Covid-19 they must follow the AHS protocols for isolation.
They practice social distancing when in the presence of residents.
SIL Supervised Suite
The staff at the Supervised Independent Living suite will provide the following services when/if a resident is in isolation or quarantine:
Staff will ensure that he/she remains in his/her room.
Staff will ensure that the resident wears a mask when leaving their room to use the bathroom or when opening their door to talk with staff.
The residents will have to disinfect the bathroom every single time using disinfectant wipes.
When staff prepare meals or give residents food they will wear gloves and a face mask, leave the food at the door, let the resident know the food is there, step away from the door, and ensure that the resident is wearing a mask when they grab their food.
Disposable plates and utensils will be purchased for the resident to use so staff do not have to bring used dishware in and out of the rooms.
A dedicated garbage bin will be placed in the resident's room.

they will be available to chat or talk with the resident if the resident so requests
