OUR PROGRAMS
Supported Independent Living
Child and Youth Group
The Supported Independent Living program is designed to support residents aged 16-26 who are in transition from living with their families, a foster home or a residential group home placement to living independently, with or without on-going supports. These programs provide counselling, support, and other resources to facilitate the development of the skills needed by resident to live independently.
A supported independent living placement may include one of the following:
-
A room, basement suite, main floor of a house or an apartment in a facility operated and/or supervised by the program.
-
A room, basement suite, main floor of a house or an apartment in a facility not operated or supervised by the program.
NOTE: Clients must not have an 'in care' status. They must be under PMSS, SFAA or TAP as the homes are not licensed as a group care facility.

The Child and Youth Group Living program involves providing a stable, nurturing environment, promoting the well-being and development of young people, and helping them build life skills and social connections. This includes direct care, therapeutic interventions, crisis management, advocacy, and facilitating reintegration with families or other placements, all while working within a trauma-informed, family-centred, and strengths-based framework.
